Heather’s Bridal Portrait Session at Sunrise at Sandbridge Beach

It has been my experience as a professional wedding photographer that most brides already know exactly what they want by the time they begin to plan their wedding…and Heather was no exception. Because she planned to be married at Sandbridge Beach, it was important for Heather to have her bridal portrait photographed there as well.

At sunrise.

Not a problem…except that Heather lives in Richmond. So, take a minute and think through…

Mishaell’s Bridal Portrait Session at the First Lady of Suffolk

I met with an excited Mishaell to finalize the details of her bridal portrait session scheduled at the First Lady of Suffolk. A spectacular 8,000 square foot home located in historic downtown Suffolk, it was built in 1907 and has since been fully restored to its original grandeur. Each room has a unique personality and the thematic possibilities are endless. It is truly a bridal photographer’s dream come true.

As we discussed possible directions to take her bridal portrait session, I asked Mishaell what was most important to her about the photographs…

Courtney’s Bridal Portrait Session at the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia

Courtney was excited with the decision to photograph her bridal portrait at the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia Beach…and so was I! Take a stunning bride like Courtney, add an absolutely beautiful wedding dress, then combine them with the rich palette of light, shapes and textures at the Contemporary Art Center and the opportunities for great images are almost limitless. I really enjoyed working with Courtney on both a personal and…

Cherie’s Bridal Portrait Session at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Norfolk

From the time Cherie arrived for her bridal portrait, it was clear it would be a very special afternoon in front of the camera lens. She was the perfect bride in the perfect dress, and she brought the perfect attitude along with her as well. I shared my ideas for the session with Cherie and we started shooting photos right away! Cherie was truly a bridal photographer’s dream. We spent the next few hours exploring a variety of locations and setups, each one…

Jenna’s Bridal Portrait Session at the Town Center of Virginia Beach

I am thrilled that Jenna is now married so I can share some of the photographs from her bridal session with you. We chose the Town Center of Virginia Beach as the location for the photo shoot and Jenna was so excited. As a wedding photographer, it was so much fun to work with Jenna. She was also a real trooper when the temperature decided to make a run toward the lower end of the thermometer on the day of her bridal portrait session.

Carrie’s Bridal Portrait Session at the historic Branch House in Richmond

Carrie’s decision to use the historic Branch House in Richmond for her bridal portrait worked out great. Currently included in the National Registry of Historic Places, it was built in on picturesque Monument Avenue in 1916. We had it all to ourselves on a Saturday afternoon to photograph the bridal session and wound up using several great locations throughout the property. But this wonderful traditional setting was only background scenery, as Carrie…

A Great Affair Bridal Registry - Carrie looks beautiful and the grand hall is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for a wedding. I agree, my favorite is Carrie standing in the atrium. I love the photos!

Vivian’s Bridal Portrait Session in the Oak Moon Photography studio in Virginia Beach

As a wedding photographer, sometimes the weather can be your best friend and sometimes…well, not so much. We had already rescheduled Vivian’s bridal portrait two times because of inclement weather when we heard the latest forecast…more rain. So, I suggested we photograph her bridal session in my studio and she instantly agreed. Vivian is a natural in front of the camera and her pictures show it. All my brides are amazingly beautiful and…

Terri’s Bridal Portrait Session in Norfok prior to her Destination Wedding

It was so much fun photographing Terri. She chose a fabulous garden in Norfolk for her bridal portrait and we scheduled it just before she left for her destination wedding. The garden was absolutely stunning and it turned out to be the perfect backdrop for Terri’s bridal session. One of my favorite photographs of Terri is her expression as the wind is blowing her wedding dress. We had just moved to a garden area closer to the bank of the Lafayette River…
